Meet Tom Nelson.
Tom’s roots run deep throughout our great state. His ancestors settled in Polk County, where his great-grandfather started a dairy farm, and in South Milwaukee where his grandfather and uncle worked at Allen-Bradley, later Rockwell Automation.
Tom grew up in a parsonage in rural Pepin County and, in 1980, moved to the Fox Valley where his dad started a Lutheran church. He graduated Valedictorian from Little Chute High School and received degrees from Carleton College and Princeton University.
In his first campaign in 2004, Tom shocked the political world by becoming the only Democrat in Wisconsin to defeat a Republican incumbent.
